My name is Tyler Galloway. I am a second-year student-athlete at Roanoke College and will be a first-generation college student in my family. I am currently pursuing a double major in computer science and data science at Roanoke while also playing baseball. I entered college with little knowledge of computer and data science, but quickly grasped both fields after taking introductory courses. I instantly knew this was the career I wanted to pursue after falling in love with the subject matter. This past summer, I discovered a new passion as an intern for a summer program called Interstellar Dreams, where I mentored a group of bright teens with aspirations to enter the space industry. This role inspired me to apply my knowledge of computer and data science to space exploration, igniting a spark that eventually brought me to the Patti Grace Smith Fellowship website. I am beyond fortunate for this opportunity, and through this fellowship, I am thrilled to gain real-world experience and knowledge and expand African American representation in the Aerospace sector.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business.
