Khalil Harruna is a second-year Aerospace Engineering student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Growing up in Dacula, Georgia, Khalil discovered his passion for aerospace through the encouragement of inspiring science and math teachers who fueled his curiosity about the field. With a strong interest in space, robotics, and environmental sustainability, Khalil aspires to develop space systems that advance space exploration while contributing to a more sustainable future on Earth. At Georgia Tech, Khalil serves as the Outreach Coordinator for AeroAfroAstro, working to inspire and empower Black students to pursue careers in aerospace. He is also an active member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the African Student Association, where he fosters community and collaboration among his peers. Beyond his academic pursuits, Khalil enjoys expressing his creative side through a variety of hobbies. He has a passion for fashion, finding joy in curating unique styles that showcase his personality. He also writes poetry, using his writing to express emotions and offer fresh perspectives on the world around him. Additionally, Khalil loves videography, capturing meaningful moments and sharing his life’s narrative through the lens of a camcorder.
