Kendra Rivers

Kendra Rivers is a non-traditional student studying engineering science at Suffolk County Community College. Kendra has received her first degree in History with a concentration in geography. Her passion involves children and engineering. Kendra has combined her passions by educating elementary and middle school students, on math, science, and engineering principles. Kendra is a member of the Society of Women Engineers, SWE. She is a part of their collegiate leadership institute, where she engages with other women engineer students to develop leadership skills. Also, Kendra had the opportunity to assist in nanotechnology research as an NSF REU student at the University of Maryland, during the summer of 2021. Kendra plans to transfer to a 4-year university to major in mechanical engineering with a minor in GIS to assist in satellite design and atmospheric remote sensing research.
