Elijah Simpson

Driven by a passion and love for space and learning new things, Elijah Simpson is a first year student at the University of Michigan pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. As an active member and DEI committee representative within the Black Students in Aerospace student organization on campus, he serves as a voice for African-American aerospace engineering students at the weekly DEI committee meetings held by the Aerospace Department. This role has enabled him to hone his leadership and communication skills in tandem, all the while pushing for greater representation and diversity within Aerospace. Also, within the Michigan rocketry team, MASA, he is a member of the Aerodynamics and Recovery team. Elijah’s current plan is to pursue a masters degree in Aerospace Engineering and he aspires to develop and innovate technologies that will help humans go further than ever before.
