  • Tuskegee University, Aerospace Engineering, ‘25

  • Host Institution: Amazon Kuiper

Greetings! I am Bethany Long, a fifth year Aerospace Engineering major from Atlanta, Georgia pursuing my degree at the illustrious Tuskegee University. I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue and strengthen my engineering and leadership skills within the Patti Grace Smith Fellowship and carry on my endeavors this summer with Amazon Kuiper assisting with the next largest internet constellation. Apart from engineering, I have completed four full years of Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) while leading hundreds of cadets to improve their leadership and followership skills inside and outside military settings. I am also a Spring 2023 initiate of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, a black Greek service organization standing on the principles of scholarship, service, sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood. Within Zeta, I have hosted a Breast Cancer walk on campus to spread awareness about women’s health and volunteers at the local assisted living centers to help the seniors of Tuskegee stay active. It is a true blessing to be able to continue the legacy of Ms. Patti Grace Smith, a Tuskegee native and graduate. Without her efforts, I would not be offered as great as an opportunity to encourage people of color to achieve their highest goals. I’m excited to see what I accomplish next! God Speed.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business.
