Every year, our Patti Grace Smith Fellowship Summit immerses our Fellows in 3+ days of mentorship, teamwork, and executive-level exposure to the industry. It’s a time for our young Fellows to discover new potential career paths, to connect directly with the world’s leading experts, and to forge relationships that can supercharge a career.

12:30pm - 2:00pm Eastern. Lunch with NASA Deputy Administrator Pam Melroy

As Deputy Administrator, Melroy performs the duties and exercises the powers delegated by the Administrator, assists the Administrator in making final agency decisions, and acts for the Administrator in his absence by performing all necessary functions to govern NASA operations. Melroy is also responsible for laying the agency's vision and representing NASA to the Executive Office of the President, Congress, heads of federal and other appropriate government agencies, international organizations, and external organizations and communities.

Prior to her current role, Melroy served as a pilot in the US Air Force, a NASA astronaut, and as a leader at Lockheed Martin, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Nova Systems Pty, Australia, and as an advisor to the Australian Space Agency. She has logged more than 38 days in orbit, as well as more than 200 combat and combat support hours in the United States Air Force..

Melroy holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and astronomy from Wellesley College and a master’s degree in Earth and Planetary Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

For this session, the Patti Grace Smith Fellows will join the Brooke Owens Fellows.

Presentations from our teams, followed by feedback.

A parting conversation between our PGSF Founders and our PGSF Fellows on how the program should evolve, what can be improved for our Class of 2022, and how our Fellows can remain involved after this summer is over.
